Applications Engineer, has a diverse background in government and industry -- in technical leadership positions, managing multi-million dollar procurements and development programs while delivering on time and within budget. A product of Caterpillar’s Management Training Program before entering the Air Force, he was supervising engineer in nuclear power plant design, a start-up engineer for J&J on high speed web handling machines, Director of Engineering for Solar Industries with several patents in thin film solar collectors, and managed three F-18 Foreign Military Sales cases for the Navy. He received the Defense Standardization Program Office’s highest award for his efforts to standardize NATO Tactical Networks. Besides holding energy related patents, he was a certified American Institute of Architects instructor in solar and geothermal systems. In the service he piloted ‘heavy’ jet aircraft and commanded mobility and airlift forces -- in Vietnam, Grenada, Panama and Desert Storm -- and retired from the reserves at the rank of Colonel.
